Tips
Food portion should not exceed 12oz at any given meal.
We recommend eating only when hungry and stop when satisfied. You should not feel full. Some people prefer 3 scheduled meals.
If you are hungry try listening to favorite music, go for a walk, brush your teeth, take shower, or meditate.
Food scale is the most reliable way of measuring food, but you can use portion containers and measuring cups.
Try eating with non-dominant hand to eat slower and to be more mindful.
Replace meal with protein drink if in a rush or no healthy options are available.
Dehydration may feel like hunger. Hydrate adequately with plain water, or water with the splash of your favorite juice.
Batash Pro Shake Recipe:

- Two Scoops (or packets) of Vanilla or Chocolate Powder
- 6-80z of milk of your choice. Almond, Lactose Free, Skim, Oat or Hemp Milk.
- 4 cubes of ice
- Combine everything in an electric blender and blend for a minute.
Liquid diet
We recommend avoiding liquid calories. They add up easily especially when drinking high calorie beverages. Any type of juice or smoothie usually contains a lot of calories, despite being “natural” or “no sugar added.” However good quality, low sugar protein drink can be a good meal replacement if necessary.
You can include protein shakes in your diet after the balloon placement and endoscopic sleeve. Protein shakes can be a great way to meet your protein needs, especially as you adjust to your regular diet. They are easy to digest and can be particularly useful if you find it challenging to consume enough protein through solid foods.
Just make sure to choose shakes that are low in sugar and high in protein. Also, consider the timing of your shakes; avoid drinking them close to mealtimes to prevent feeling too full.
Alcohol, especially mixed drinks can be very high in calories. Skip those margaritas & pina coladas. Wine has calories, but you can occasionally have a glass. Glass is usually only 150-200 calories. Try to eat solid food that you need to chew. High volume/fiber rich foods that have a lot of texture are very satisfying.
It is okay to drink diet soda. Water is best but if you are going for the soda, go with the diet option.
Tips & Tricks
Only order appetizers, never the main dish. Start your meal with broth-based soup and small salad.
Eat only half of sandwich.
Replace your meal with protein drink if you don’t have any good food choices or don’t have time for a meal.
Take picture of your plate and keep photo journal. If not sure regarding your food choice or size of your meal, text us a picture at 917 540 0851 and we will help you to make the right choice.
Get adequate sleep and start your day with 8oz glass of water.
Weight yourself every day at the same time. Keep log of your weight.
If you have sweet cravings have some vitamin C enriched beverage or eat something that is sour.
Avoid fried and high fat foods. It doesn’t mean that you should never eat that fried chicken sandwich you love. Occasionally you can eat anything you want. All you need to do is to watch portions.
Avoid excessive amounts of so-called healthy foods, highly refined, processed, and calorie dense food. Examples of calorie dense food are avocado, cheese, nuts, dry fruits.
Avoid excessive amounts of condiments such as butter, crème cheese, vegetable/sunflower oils, crème dressings.
Avoid excessive amounts of condiments such as butter, crème cheese, vegetable/sunflower oils, crème dressings.
Avoid excessive number of sweets. Enjoy your favorite dessert occasionally but use “three bite rule.” Make three bites and stop after 3 bites.
Exercise
While exercise has numerous benefits it is not the best way to shed extra weight. Stay active but overdoing it in a gym might work against you. Moderate activity such as walking and weight bearing exercises are the best choices for most people.
