Arm Lift
Tighten, Tone, and Define Your Upper Arms Beautifully
Many people who have loose skin or extra fat hanging from their upper arms feel self-conscious in social situations and avoid wearing clothing that does not provide complete cover. Batash Aesthetics and Dr. Rojas offer arm lift surgery (brachioplasty) to eliminate loose skin and slim down your upper arms so you can proudly don short sleeves.
What Is an Arm Lift?
An arm lift is also called a brachioplasty and is a cosmetic surgery that gets rid of excess skin and fat from the upper portion of your arms. It is normally done to tighten and reshape the area between the underarm and the elbow to give your arms a slimmer, more toned, and youthful look.
Unfortunately, as you get older, your skin no longer snaps back like it used to, and it is common to develop loose hanging skin that is often called “bat wings.” Sadly, working out and eating a low-calorie diet are normally not effective ways to fix this problem, but arm lift surgery can smooth and reshape your upper arm area and leave them looking more defined, proportionate, and natural-looking.
Who Is a Candidate for an Arm Lift?
Men and women who make good candidates for an arm lift feel unhappy or self-conscious about loose, sagging skin on their upper arms. Individuals who may be a good candidate for brachioplasty:
- Have loose or hanging skin on your upper arms from major weight loss or getting older.
- Understand what the surgery can and cannot accomplish and have realistic expectations.
- Are in good health and close to your ideal weight.
- Are free from any health conditions that would prevent you from safely undergoing surgery.
- Do not smoke or use recreational drugs.
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding
What Is Involved in an Arm Lift?
Each surgeon may use their own special technique, but the most common steps used during an arm lift include:
Step 1
You will be given anesthesia so you stay comfortable and relaxed throughout the procedure.
Step 2
Dr. Rojas will create an incision that runs along the inside of your upper arm from your elbow to your underarm area, which will help hide the scarring once the area has healed. If more extreme correction is needed, the incision may extend even further.
Step 3
If liposuction is needed, it would be done during this step to get rid of stubborn fat deposits and help create smoother, more contoured upper arms.
Step 4
Any loose excess skin will be trimmed away, and the remaining skin is pulled tight and secured into place with sutures. Your arms will then be wrapped with sterile dressings and covered with a special compression sleeve that will help contain swelling, reduce bruising, and provide stability and support to your arms as you heal.
Step 5
Arm lift surgery is usually done as an outpatient procedure, which means you can go home the same day after a short recovery period in our care. While you are in the observation room, a member of our team will help you get up and walk around to keep your blood circulating and lower

Dr. Rojas’s surgical skill and artistic eye for detail will give you the arm lift results you desire and help you feel more comfortable, confident, and proud of your appearance.
Recovery
Arm lift surgery is normally done as an outpatient procedure, so you can go home the same day after spending a short time under observation. Once you are discharged to go home, you will be given detailed aftercare instructions that you should follow carefully to ensure your recovery goes smoothly and you get the best results. Full recovery can take between four and six weeks and will depend on the extent of your surgery.
Results
Your arm lift results can last for many years if you take good care of them by implementing clean lifestyle habits and maintaining a healthy weight. Sadly, no surgery can stop the natural progression of aging, so you may experience some skin laxity over the years, but there are a number of non-surgical cosmetic procedures that can correct a small amount of loose skin and refresh your results.
How Much Does Arm Lift Surgery Cost?

During your initial consultation, a member of our team will go over the full cost of your arm lift surgery and explain the financing options available to help make your procedure more affordable.

FAQs
Arm lift surgery can take 2 or 3 hours depending on the extent of the surgery, if liposuction is used, and the amount of correction needed.
You will not feel any pain during arm lift surgery because you will be comfortably sedated. During your recovery you will be prescribed pain medication that you will probably need to take for at least the first few days, or maybe up to a week. Right after your surgery, you may find it hard to lift your arms above your head or make other arm movements. After about a week, over-the-counter medication should be enough to ease any residual discomfort. It is normal to feel “tightness” for a few months near the incision areas, but this will gradually fade away.
Yes, an arm lift is often combined with other surgeries that enhance the body, like a tummy tuck or thigh lift, for more dramatic results.
